Train to Be a Coach

It was someone very close to me who initially suggested I become a Life Coach. I had just chosen to come out of my corporate job as I realised I needed more from life. I needed to feel I was contributing in some positive constructive way, and actually making a difference when I went to work each day and not just making a valuable difference to my company's bottom line dollar profit.

When I considered to train to be a coach, it was based on my desire to help other people see opportunities rather than obstacles. The usual objections came up for me as they can do for each one of us when confronted with the idea of starting something so new.

There were plenty of choices about where to start - almost too many and I knew the decision had to be the right one. So, choosing where to train to be a coach was an important decision. It was a very exciting time.

Any coach in any field needs to train, to learn and to study continuously to stay on top of what is going on in their industry and bring their clients the best of what is out there. The impact you will have on your future clients depends on your commitment to undertaking a program of training with people who are experts in their field. What you will ultimately achieve from this can set you up for a life of choice about when and where you work, and who you work with.

As you train to be a coach you will master communication both with yourself and others. Communicating with self is one of the first steps to understanding some of the issues your clients face, as honesty about your own feelings will help the transformation for others.

Whether you decide to become an NLP practitioner, or undertake leadership and executive coaching, or pursue a Diploma of Life Coaching and run workshops and possibly even create your own product, then you will soon find that your decision to train to be a coach was the right one.

A professional Life Coach has skills, understanding, tools and structure around the daily thought processes we use to manage our lives. As coaches we implement the strategies we have learned in our coaching studies which give us the ability to help people achieve the potential they are capable of and to reach the success they have been striving for.

Life Coaching is certainly a lifestyle choice as you can have the life you want and at the same time help others achieve the life they want. Most people want to achieve more in their lives - not less. Making the decision to train to be a coach will give you the opportunity to make a positive difference.
